Following a successful run at Theatre Royal Stratford
East, Bonnie Greer’s musical – ‘Marilyn and Ella’ made its West End debut, performing a series of one night

In support of new productions, Thames Audio provided a

showcase of new musical, ‘Through The Door’. The production also utilised an optocore system allowing

Thames Audio once again provided public address and
communications systems for the Herts 10k Charity Run in aid of Cancer
Research. Funktion One AX88’s were

of the warm up arena.

June saw the opening of The Royal Academy of Arts
Summer Exhibition. The event
featured a live performance by Beth Ditto and The Gossip and was filmed by BBC
Culture Show. Thames Audio

monitor system. An optocore system
was utilised to network audio to two Yamaha M7cl’s performing both live and
broadcast duties.

June 2009 - PETER PAN KENSINGTON GARDENS
Thames Audio provided sound and communications systems
for the production of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. The 130 box system utilised Funktion
One Resolution 4 and EM Acoustics EMS122 and EMS61 loudspeakers. The production required a 32 Channel
QLab replay system along with 32 ways of Shure UHF-R radio systems. The show was elegantly mixed by
operator Jem Kitchen via a Digidesign Profile system. Sound Design – Gregory Clarke
June 09 - WINSTONS WISH
Thames Audio provided full sound production for The
Winstons Wish Charity Gala. The
system comprised eight EM Acoustics EMS122 speakers with twelve EM Acoustics
EMS61’s performing monitor duties.
A nine piece orchestra backed a West End cast led by Gary Wilmot and
Brian Blessed. Thames utilised 20
Shure UHF-R radio systems with DPA 4066 capsules. The show was controlled via a Digidesign Profile. Sound Design – James Tebb for Thames

February 2009 - The Culture Show - Peter,Bjorn & John
Thames recently continued their three year
relationship with The BBC Culture Show by facilitating live recording and artist
monitoring for The Culture Show’s ‘Picasso’ feature. Filmed at London’s National Galleries, the feature
included a live recording of Swedish band Peter, Bjorn and John’s aptly named
single ‘Blue Period Picasso’.
In keeping with the minimalist brief of the shoot, Thames utilised Funktion One’s F55 ultra
compact loudspeakers to provide artist monitoring in the smallest footprint
possible.
The programme is set to be broadcast on BBC 2 on Tuesday 17th March.
Spring 2009 - The Dutchman Rides Again
Thames were proud to support Hampstead Theatres
50th Anniversary Celebrations by providing complimentary sound
design and replay for their one off production of Amiri Baraka’s legendary
piece ‘The Dutchman’. Thames

Spring 2009 - Great Result For Grove House
Grove House – Cancer Research Trust have recently announced
record breaking results for last summer’s ‘Hertfordshire 10k run’. Thames provided a zoned public address system for the
event, employing eight Funktion One AX88 long throw horns and four Funktion One
SB118’s. Over 2500 runners took part,
helping to raise in excess of £100,000 for Cancer Research. Event Co-ordinator, Kathryn Wash, said of the
event “It was a great day and we were really
impressed by the quality and professionalism provided by Thames"
February 2009 - Whats On Stage Award For Come Dancing
Ray Davies' new musical 'Come Dancing', has been voted - Best Off-West End Production, in the 2009 Whats On Stage Theatregoers Awards. The musical enjoyed an extended run at Theatre Royal Stratford East in Autumn of 2008. Thames Audio would like to extend their congratulations to everyone involved in the production.
February 2009 - Thames Audio, Doing The Doo
Thames Audio have continued their longstanding relationship with U.S. producers AEG Themestar by supplying full sound production for the UK Tour of ‘Scooby Doo and the Pirate Ghost’.
The FOH system incorporates eight Funktion One Resolution 2p’s and four F118’s with six EAW JF80’s as front fill. For larger venues a further eight Funktion One Resolution 4’s and four Resolution 18’s will ensure perfect coverage for what has proved to be no ordinary ‘kids’ show.
On stage, a collection of EAW KF300’s are employed as stage monitoring and effects speakers. All processing is handled by XTA DP448’s with MC2 E4-75 amplification
.
At the mix position a QLab replay system is deployed to handle the shows’ near five hundred effects and underscore cues.
Scooby Doo and the Pirate Ghost tours the UK until late November.
January 2009 - The Buddy Holly Story - 2009 Tour
Thames Audio recently supplied full sound design and production for the 2009 UK Tour of ‘Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story’
The show utilises a range of Funktion One loudspeakers for Front Of House duties, controlled via a matrix of XTA DP448’s. The varied monitor requirements are taken care of by EM Acoustics’ discrete yet powerful EMS 61’s with MC2 E4-75’s handling all amplification needs.
Thames Director, Peter Cox explained “It has proven to be a fantastic opportunity to combine a number of our most trusted and highly regarded products and the results speak for themselves”.
Thames Audio have been suppliers to ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ since its conception over 20 years ago.
September 2008 - Ray Davies - Come Dancing
Thames Audio Ltd have provided full sound production for Ray Davies’ new musical – Come Dancing. The system, designed by Thames’ James Tebb, included a 48x24 Digidesign Profile Console and runs at Theatre Royal Stratford East until early November
July 2008 - Dragons' Den - Series 6
July saw Thames venture into the Dragons' Den, helping Cambridge band 'Hamfatter' to convince the dragons that they were worth a £75,000 investment. In order to adhere to a tight production schedule and with minimal studio space available, a Yamaha LS9 proved to be an invaluable tool. By pre-programming the console, a five way monitor mix, plus stereo studio and broadcast mixes were acheived within minutes and all within a rack footprint of 2ftx2ft.

The Cannizaro Festival is back, just some of the line-up includes: comedy from Bill Bailey, Jimmy Carr and music from Hayley Westenra, Clare Teal & Puppini Sisters. We are looking forward to a bit less rain this year!

Spring/Summer 2008 - Culture Show Spring / Summer Season
After completing another successful series of the BBC Culture Show, Thames were proud to assist them in their coverage of the gala opening of The Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition 2008 featuring a live performance by Jarvis Cocker. By supplying a Funktion One Res 4 System fronted by our newly acquired Digidesign Profile console we were able to provide audio for both broadcast and live environments whilst keeping the front of house footprint to an absolute minimum.
Spring 2008 - All Angels Cathedral Tour
March saw Thames embark on a short cathedral tour with the female classical group 'All Angels'. As all of the shows took place in cathedrals, clarity and control were of the utmost importance. By providing a system comprising various configurations of Funktion One Res 4's and AX88's to augment the acoustic qualities of the band, this could be acheived wth great success. In order to maintain an aesthetically sympathetic profile, all equipment was sited backstage with a wireless network installed, allowing the engineer to mix the show by laptop from a discrete position out front.
Spring 2008 - Family Man
Throughout May, Thames provided sound design and a sound fx system for Rikki Beadle-Blairs gritty drama 'Familyman'. With the opening scene requiring over 30 sound cues in under a minute the SCS show control system proved to be invaluable. To enhance the smooth running of technical rehearsals, Thames also provided on site sample editting facilities to tailor and often create each effect to the specifications of director Dawn Reid.
Summer 2008 - 'The Harder They Come' - West End
Thames Audio have provided equipment and production for 'THTC' at The Playhouse Theatre, London.The system is Funktion-One, with a full gamut of components including: Res-2P, F218P/F118, an AX88 centre cluster, F55 frontfill/ F81 infill, and even Res-2SH horns.The resulting natural sound quality with deep 'dub' bass really does justice to this superb musical. Director Kerry Michaels is delighted with the sound quality.

Spring 2008 - Marilyn & Ella
Thames enjoyed yet another successful production at The Theatre Royal Stratford East, providing both equipment and sound design services for Bonnie Greer's new musical play 'Marilyn & Ella'. The show, which follows the lives and brief encounters of Marilyn Monroe and Ella Fitzgerald, proved to be most successful, warranting a well received and well deserved extended run.

Thomas The Tank Engine returns to the UK Stage.
Thames have supplied a Funktion-One system of Res2's and AX88's.
When the production moves to larger venues a Funktion-One Res4 System is used.

Thames Audio have supplied the full Sound Design and an SFX sound effects replay system for the UK tour of the award winning 'Visiting Mr Green', starring the inimitable Warren Mitchell.

Funktion-One RES-2A's and AX88s were specified for this show, along with a Yamaha M7CL console and 6 Aviom personal monitors.

With pulsating cuban rhythms and the hottest dancing you are ever likely to see, Lady Salsa starts a UK tour this summer.
Sound design is by Neil McDonald. "I have wanted to use Thames and their Funktion- One systems for some time now, and wow what a system! The self powered Res2's are awesome"
The show also used Aviom Personal mixers and a Shure in-ear monitor and radio system.

FEBRUARY 2007 - 'The Harder They Come' THE 70's CULT CLASSIC FILM IS BACK TO LIFE ON STAGE!
Following its successful debut last summer, ‘The Harder They Come’ returns to the Theatre Royal Stratford East for an extended run.
Thames Audio was on hand to assist with design and installation of the show. Helen Atkinson who is #1 Audio on the show says, “It’s great to have Thames back again, their service is second to none and they have some great design ideas. They have supplied me a Yamaha M7CL digital console which gives me the flexibility to deal with this very demanding show.”
FEBRUARY 2007 - SCOOBY IS BACK!
After a successful year in The USA and South America, Scooby Doo Returns to the UK and Ireland.
Thames Audio has provided a system with Shure UHF-R Radio Mics, XTA controlled Funktion-One Speaker package & Midas FOH console with SFX Playback.
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2006 - 'Buddy' rounds off 2006 with a tour of Denmark
After a successful year on tour in the UK, Buddy is now touring Denmark. Thames Audio have had over 15 years experience of supplying a very 'custom' sound system for this unique portrayal of Buddy's life and music.

SEPTEMBER 2006 - Slava's Snowshow UK Tour
Slava’s Snowshow has chosen an EAW KF730 line array supplied by Thames Audio for their Autumn UK Tour. "We needed a fully scalable package that went together quickly and sounds great, and the system hasn’t disappointed" Said Julian Locke - Touring Systems Designer. The tour begins in Milton Keynes and tours for nine weeks, finishing in Bath.
AUGUST 2006 - Scooby Doo North and South American Tour
Thames have provided a Control and Radio system, for ThemeSTAR'S scoobalicious Americas tour of Scooby Doo - Stagefright!.
A 16 way Shure UHR-R system with computer control, has been supplied. Marc Cohen, sound associate for the production remarked, "The Shure system sounds so clean, with the DPA headsets we are using. I also haven't had one problem with the RF side of the system, and when you consider the radio hostile enviroments here in South America, that's Fantastic!!
AUGUST 2006 - Dora The Explorer and Funktion One
Thames Audio have provided a Funktion One Res2 and AX88 System for 'Dora The Explorer - Dora's Pirate Adventure' theatre tour of the UK Ireland and mainland Europe.
James Edmondson FOH engineer for the show says "I'm blown away by how the system sounds, Clear vocal and punchy tracks - I wish we had had this system on the US tour"
Mixing control is provided by another Yamaha M7CL providing digital outputs to the XTA 448 controllers and the new MC2 475 4 channel amplifiers.
JULY 2006 - Gnarls Barclay goes "Crazy" for Funktion One
Thames Audio provided a Funktion One Res5 System for Gnarls Barclay's Uk dates during the summer.
FOH Engineer and Sound Designer Euan Hill commented
"I love to mix on Funktion One, there are few systems that can give the mid band clarity and huge progressive bass that an F1 system produces. Its always my system of choice."
JULY 2006 - Regents Park Open Air Theatre
Thames Audio have provided equipment and sound production for The New Shakespeare Company’s production of ‘The Boyfriend’.
The equipment includes a Funktion-One proscenium system comprising AX88 skeletal horns, combined with F118 bass enclosures to cover the auditorium, supplemented with Res2SH skeletal horns as infill. The show will make use of our new Shure UHF-R wireless system, the mixing console supplied is a Yamaha PM5D-RH.

JULY 2006 - Acoustic Alchemy in Amalfi, Italy
Thames Audio provided full production for a private party in the prestigious Orient Express Hotel – The Carruso in Amalfi Italy.
